Facilities available for hire

The Franklin Tsu Gallery

The Museum is made up of five galleries, four of which house the permanent exhibition on the upper floors. The fifth, the Franklin Tsu Gallery, is a temporary exhibition area on the ground floor and is suitable for a range of events including:

  • Small lectures (maximum 20 people)
  • Business meetings (maximum 10 people)

The Upper Galleries

The Upper Galleries, housing the permanent collection, are not suitable for presentations or meetings but make a beautiful and unique back-drop for a reception.

  • Private receptions (maximum 50 people)

The Education Room

Our Education Room is also available for hire, for meetings, corporate events or even birthday parties. Facilities include a seperate kitchen area and wheelchair accessible toilet.

The use of the Museum for functions may be related to the Museum and its work or may be used for private and/or corporate interests. The Museum is not licensed to sell alcohol, but hirers are permitted to supply and serve their own refreshments. The Museum’s small kitchen is available for the preparation of light refreshments.

Discount for charities

Registered Charities Registered charities hiring either the Franklin Tsu Gallery, Upper Galleries or Education Room on a Monday receive a 10% discount.

Bank Holidays

The Museum is not available to hire on a Bank Holiday.


A deposit of 50% is required on signing of the hire agreement.

Full payment and the balance are required 14 days prior to a function.
