Date: Thursday, 26th April 18:30-19:30,  book by 24th April

Admission: Free

Tony Beckingsale talks about his book on Laura Beckingsale’s personal saga during one of China’s most tumultuous periods, the years before and during the 1911 Chinese Revolution. Tony is the great nephew of Laura. He took care of her in the last five years of her life and compiled the book from her old letters and tape recordings.

The book shares Laura’s thoughts and vivid experiences as a Western witness of the Revolution. This is a great opportunity to gain a fascinating insight into the turning point of China’s history that shaped it from an empire to a republic.
